The jewel you lost was blue

Sapta Dance Company

contemporary dance
age young people13+ & adults

30 mins

Taking the last line of the poem 'Red' by Ted Hughes as a starting point, the company has explored responses to some of his challenging and emotive text ...Beyond the sometimes sensationalised personal life of the poet and his wife Sylvia Plath, what do the words provoke in us? How can we express the memories, emotions and ideas they evoke with relevance to our lives and to our physicalities ? The dancers in this community company, all aged 60 years and over, bring courage, depth and sensitivity to the stage. Older dancing bodies, telling stories, leaving traces.
